On our blog we have been showing you pictures and described some of the interesting activities we have had over the past month. While that has been fun, there is another side to RV living, I’ll call it simply “trailer life”. Trailer Life, as I have termed it, are the activities that happen at the trailer or in the RV park.
Everything happens in Trailer Life. Cooking, eating, sleeping, getting changed, and entertaining ourselves.
As you know, our trailer is quite small – 20 feet long from the hitch to the bumper to be exact. This means our living space is only about 16 feet long by 7 feet wide (although a slide out with our dinette helps tremendously).
Being organized helps us stay sane. Patience is also a virtue.
In the non-traveling hours, Phyllis keeps busy sewing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and wordles. I keep busy with playing my guitar and reading. In the month we have been gone I have read 4 novels. And, just as we do at home, we spend a lot of time on our IPads.
The other things that we haven’t shown are the day-to-day activities that happen.
Once we arrive at an area, we have to set-up the trailer before we can occupy it. We keep a limited amount of food with us, so we have to grocery shop every couple of days. We still have days for “chores”: laundry, vehicle maintenance, and planning our next stops and activities. That means we can spend quite a bit of time sitting in the trailer before and after the activities we show you.
While the travel has been fun, unfortunately, you can’t escape all of the other parts of trailer life.
